The EU roadshow culminated in the centre of Pristina on 7 July , as Kosovo and international representatives and participants convened for cocktails and a nearly 3-hour live TV Gala Show moderated by Fitore Rexhepi and Benet Kaci.
Sweeping to victory, quiz participant Arbër Kuçi will travel to Brussels: Live TV Gala Night in Prishtina/Pristina
• European quiz final: And the winner is … Arber Kuçi, 21. In the Gala Show earlier this week, the final of the European Quiz with contestants from across Kosovo peaked in a live neck-to-neck race between Flaka Salihaj (Shtime/Stimlje) and Arber Kuçi (Prishtina/Pristina). Before embarking on his last year of studies in journalism and politics at the American University in Bulgaria this fall, Arber will travel to Brussels to visit the key EU institutions. Follow him on his first journey to the capital of the EU here on this website and in Kosovo’s media!
• Kosovo towns ready themselves for EU path: It was with great suspense that VIPs, town representatives and the audience alike awaited the results from the inter-municipality competition in the EU roadshow. And the winners of the EU roadshow stars are…
• Best municipal organization: Peja/Pec
• Best artistic programme: Suhareke/ Suva Reka
• Best audience: Mitrovice/Mitrovica
• On the road again: The Gala show saw both the Albanian-speaking and Serbian-speaking theatre groups and the highlights from the exclusive roadshow comedy in the Gala show.
• A common destination ahead: The Gala show was attended by Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi, Minister of Justice Nekibe Kelmendi, Mitrovica mayor Bajram Rexhepi and other representatives of the government. EU Special Representative Pieter Feith and Head of EULEX Yves de Kermabon shared their impressions from roadshow stops they had attended over the past months and handed over the quiz and municipality awards personally. Rodolphe Richard spoke briefly about the EU perspective for Kosovo on behalf of the French Presidency; Freek Janmaat from the European Commission explained the role of that office in Kosovo. All roadshow crew members celebrated the Live TV Gala night together – ranging from the driver of the “Come to Europe” truck driver to the creative, artistic, managerial and regional groups and volunteers.
